What is more Italian Lessons (and Kiss My Jagged Face, actually) than summer in Liguria?

We are headed toward one of the sexiest and simultaneously low-key stylish summer destinations in Italy: Santa Margherita Ligure and Paraggi. Think: focaccia for breakfast, fabulous beach club with a fabulous restaurant, dives into turquoise baias, more pesto than you can eat, and nights in the twinkling hills.

Val d’Orcia; Toscana

May 20-25, 2026

May 27- June 1, 2026

This area of Tuscany plays a part in Sounds of Feeling. It is an area I have been visiting for over ten years and have come to know like a second home. There are a number of young people in the area who have reinvigorated the energy, creating a fun, spirited, and entrepreneurial vibe set amidst some of the most magnificent scenery in all of central Italy.

This retreat is in collaboration with ALTA: a new, community-rooted, high-end food market and gathering place taking shape in the US and Italy, and with renowned naturopath and women’s well-being practitioner, Natalie Smyth.

Natalie Smyth Natalie is a passionate Naturopath, intertwining Functional Medicine, mindfulness, and yoga philosophy. With a previous life in the corporate world, Natalie understands setting realistic achievable goals to achieve whole health.

Natalie was at the forefront of initiating a wellness program for Discovery Networks to become the healthiest company to work for in Britain. As well as Natalie's training in mindfulness under the world-renowned Thich Nhat Hanh assists her innate ability to heal, empathise, and offer solutions to various clients.

She looks at every person as a unique bio individual, addressing the underlying root causes of health problems and is trained to understand how nutrients and other food components influence the function of the body. Thereby protecting against disease, restoring health, and determining people’s response to changes in the environment. Food is our fuel: nourishes us down to our biochemistry, it unlocks our creativity, influences our mood, it grounds and connects us back to nature, as well as connecting us to our community.

She has run retreats in Eco Camps in the UK, Portugal, Brazil and Australia. As well as mentoring with pioneers in the healing arts, since she was 15 years old in Australia & the US.

We will be staying in a gorgeous villa on the grounds of La Foce gardens, a truly special opportunity.

Settle into the serene, convivial atmosphere of the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO world heritage site in southern Tuscany, just south of Siena. This trip combines the beauty of the area with a wellness and movement component courtesy of renowned naturopath Natalie Smyth and a collaboration with ALTA.

Well-being: Natalie will anchor the wellness side of our time in Pienza with her usual mix of clarity and practicality. She’ll guide the group through simple, everyday rituals that help sharpen focus, support digestion, and bring the body into a steadier rhythm as we step into spring. Think of it as tuning the instrument rather than chasing enlightenment. She’ll talk about eating for energy and performance, how to ease into a new season without feeling scattered, and the small habits that clear mental and creative pathways. She will also spearhead our menus at the villa, as she is a divine menu planner.

Flowers: We will visit Puscina, a wildflower farm run by three sisters, where we will be guided in a beautiful workshop.

Artistry: We will spend a lovely afternoon at a long table surrounded by vineyards in the company of Lisa Brancatisano, a Tuscan watercolourist. After choosing our subject, we will spend a few hours under her eye, bringing out our inner artist.

Culinary: We will visit a gorgeous working farm in Pienza, where we will choose our produce from an expansive ‘orto’ and then put our cookery skills to fine use inside the rustic kitchen.

Spa: We will visit the area’s thermal baths at a five-star spa resort, where we will experience the ancient ritual, dipping in and out of the many thermal pools and indulging in a treatment or two.

Photography: We are fortunate to be working with a Conde Nast photographer who will be with us for two days, to immerse everyone as much as they desire in seeing the area with a photographic lens. Lessons will come from osmosis, in the most organic method.

Wine: We will have private, guided tours of three different vineyards, each with a unique personality and offering.

Movement: We will be guided in daily movement with a London based pilates instructor— yoga, pilates, yogalates, and any additional private lesson you choose.

Gardens: We will have a private tour of La Foce gardens, the most renowned gardens in the area with an incredible history.

Exploring: We will explore photo-worthy local villages and UNESCO sites.

And of course, we will have lunches, dinners, and aperitivos galore.
